Our featured speakers will be  Dr. Catherine BaaseGlobal Director of Health Services for The Dow Chemical Company . MIHIA, the Michigan Health Information Alliance is a non-profit multi-stakeholder collaborative with a mission to improve the health of people in its 14 county region in central Michigan.   Dr. Catherine Baase will share efforts of this community collaborative to advance the PCMH.   Dr. Baase and Dow are engaged with the MIHIA initiatives.  As an employer, Dow determined that collaboration at the community level was essential to achievement of their Health Strategy.

Catherine M. Baase, MD, is the Global Director of Health Services for The Dow Chemical Company. Dr. Baase has direct responsibility for leadership and management of all Occupational Health, Epidemiology, and Health Promotion staff and programs around the world. In addition to these roles and along with the Global Director of Benefits, Dr. Baase is responsible for the Dow Health Strategy. She is also involved in health policy and health issue management at Dow. Previously, Dr. Baase was the director of Health Care Strategic Planning with direct responsibility for the US health benefit plans. 

Outside Dow, Dr. Baase is on the Board of Directors of the Partnership for Prevention, a national, public-private partnership dedicated to preventive health services. Dr. Baase is on the advisory boards of The Institute for Health and Productivity Management and the US Cochrane Center. For several years she has been a member of the ACOEM Health and Productivity Committee. She has served as a member of the Clinical Research Roundtable of the Institute of Medicine, The National Academies, and is a Fellow in the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine and a Fellow in the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Baase is on the editorial staff for both the American Journal of Health Promotion and the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. She has published on a variety of health topics and has been invited to present at numerous conferences.
